I am trying to install hop.nvim using packer. I have about 35 other plugins installed without any issues. For some reason, I can't install hop.nvim.

The other plugins install fine if I use :PackerSync.

For some reason, it passes hop.nvim and I don't get any error messages.

This is what I got in my init.lua.

return require('packer').startup(function(use)
-- Packer can manage itself
use 'wbthomason/packer.nvim'
-- If you are using Packer
use 'shaunsingh/nord.nvim'
-- ... other plugins
use {'phaazon/hop.nvim'}
end)

I would try:

  use 'phaazon/hop.nvim'

Without the braces.

Or as documented in hop:

use {
  'phaazon/hop.nvim',
  branch = 'v2', -- optional but strongly recommended
  config = function()
    -- you can configure Hop the way you like here; see :h hop-config
    require'hop'.setup { keys = 'etovxqpdygfblzhckisuran' }
  end
}

  • And if you keep only hop to verify that the problem is not in one of the previous lines (maybe you could give us the full call I stead of the excerpt)? Apr 24 at 3:41

    my mistake. The first line worked. i had to put the setup on a separate lua file. Thank you for your help!
