In textmate (and I assume every other editor), it has a nice feature where it colorizes a regular expression inside a string (r-string in python). For example here is how it looks in Texmate:

Is there a way to get vim to recognize 'special strings' and mark those up (or perhaps a plugin?) For example, I would like to mark up:

  • Everything string that starts with r as a regex.
  • Every string that starts with SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, or DELETE as sql.

How could this be done?
