I am attempting to connect with a local instance of MS SQL Server using the dbext plugin.

I run a simple sql statement (a create table statement, from a file where ft=sql), by placing the cursor over the statement and entering <leader> sel.

A message then appears on the command line indicating activity from dbext: Executing SQL at hh:mm.

However, there is no apparent change to the database after I refresh it in the Object Explorer panel of MS SQL Server Management Studio.

i have tried several variations of the SQLSRV string (see below), in line with my understanding of the documentation and suggestions on the internet. Alas the same result.

let g:dbext_default_profile_SQLSRV_testdb = 'type=SQLSRV:user=xxxxxx:passwd=xxxxxx:srvname=DESKTOP-xxxxxx\SQLEXPRESS:dbname=test'

let g:dbext_default_profile_SQLSRV_testdb = 'type=SQLSRV:user=xxxxxx:passwd=xxxxxx:host=DESKTOP-xxxxxx\SQLEXPRESS:dbname=test'

let g:dbext_default_profile_SQLSRV_testdb = 'type=SQLSRV:user=xxxxxx:passwd=xxxxxx:srvname=DESKTOP-xxxxxx:host=DESKTOP-xxxxxx\SQLEXPRESS:dbname=test'

Thanks for any help.
