What I want is kind of like vim-gitgutter. But there are some specific differences:

  • I want it to be enabled in only diff mode, even outside git directories
  • I want it to show signs on both/all the diffsplits

Let's say, I have following diff in my file ~/.bashrc:

 -export PAGER="/usr/bin/less -S"
 +export LESS="-iSJMR"
 +export PAGER="less"

I want to show + and - signs on the signcolumns of the diffsplits so that it becomes more obvious. I know how to place signs manually, from :h signs, but I don't know anything about diff mode and how to set up signs, i.e. add signs and clear signs according to the changing diff spits.

So, how do I do that?
