I am completely new to Vim. I have worked through vimtutor but nothing else so far. If I want to start using Vim for my daily work, should I start out with regular Vim or should I start with Neovim? Reading through What is Neovim? How is it different from Vim? And why should I care? I got the impression that it has some benefits and few drawbacks. But is there maybe a doctrine that as a novice one should first get used to vanilla Vim before enjoying the benefits of Neovim? I am looking forward to hear your recommendations.

Just a suggestion, don't waste your time thinking about it. You can even choose randomly. Because, if you later find out you miss something that the other one has, you can switch like that. – klaus Jun 2 '18 at 7:50
