This thing is driving me nuts

I'm trying to setup vim on my co-workers computer, and this is my .vimrc file

everytime I run vim I get this error

Error detected while processing /Users/toters/.vimrc:
line 10:
E518: Unknown option: termguicolors

however, If i simply run this

vim -u NONE -U NONE -N ~/.vimrc

then run these commands

:syn on
:colorscheme Spacegray
:set termguicolors

things work perfectly. What am I doing wrong?

I'm running osx, here is my vim version:

Care to actually fire up the affected vim, and run a :version inside? – MindTooth May 10 '18 at 11:16
